The Journey
Wild, colourful Gujarat with a small group. Walk Ahmedabad's old city, track wild asses across the Little Rann, watch the moon rise over the endless salt flats of the White Rann and meet Kutch's master craftspeople. Then head south to Gir, the last home of the Asiatic lion, and finish with evening aarti at Somnath's seaside temple. Runs from November to March, when the Rann is dry and Gir is open.

A dawn heritage walk through the pols, then Sabarmati Ashram and Adalaj Stepwell.

Stepwells to the Little Rann
Rani ki Vav and the Modhera Sun Temple on the way to the Little Rann of Kutch.

Wild asses & into Kutch
Dawn jeep safari among wild asses and flamingos, then drive to a tent camp by the White Rann.

The White Rann
The view from Kala Dungar, then sunset and moonrise out on the salt flats.

Bhuj & the craft villages
Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal, then weavers at Bhujodi and block printers at Ajrakhpur.

Across Saurashtra to Gir
A long scenic drive south to a lodge on the edge of Gir forest.

Lion country
Morning and afternoon jeep safaris in Gir National Park in search of Asiatic lions.

A final dawn safari, then on to Somnath for the evening aarti and a farewell dinner.
